NOMEX® Production Site

DuPont operates NOMEX® manufacturing facilities in Europe and in USA. These plants are capable of producing a wide range of NOMEX® staple fibres, in different filament thickness and colours, with state of the art product consistency and quality control. The structure offers security of supply as well as flexibility and excellent service on a local level.

The manufacturing facility and development centre in Asturias, Spain, offers customers a range of benefits derived from advanced processing technology. The quality management system is certified ISO 9001:2000. Original approval was granted since 1994 within one year of start-up of the Asturias plant. NOMEX® brand fibres are Oeko-Tex standard 100 certified for the most demanding class I (requirements including products in contact with baby skin).

The DuPont Asturias site is registered under EMAS (the "Eco-Management Audit Scheme" of the European Union). The site runs an environmental management system including programs for reduction of environmental footprint and is ISO 14001 certified. It is an example of sustainable development and is certified under the Wild Life Habitat Council.
